快考试了 。。。。。。大作文还是难产怎么办!!!!
130 Some people believe that corporations have a responsibility to promote the well-being of the societies and environments in which they operate. Others believe that the only responsibility of corporations, provided they operate within the law, is to make as much money as possible.
Whether corporations should take responsible to promote the well-being of the societies and environments in which they operate is a really complex issue, since corporations are belong to individuals who merely concentrate on making profits as much as possible within the law but not the parts of governments who are in charge of the society's welfare and development. Nevertheless, in my opinion, it is necessary for a far-sighted corporation to pay attention to promote the welfare of the society and environment, but not limit its vision in making money.
Admittedly, we cannot deny that profit maximization with the bounds of the law should be a corporation's primary and solo responsibility. As it is said that a company does not aim to make a profit would never become a successful company. Money is the insurance of operating a corporation, that is, the staffs need salary, the advertisements need expenditure, and the new products and new technology also need investment. In another aspect, the governments also require the profits from corporations so that they could collect more taxes. Thus profit maximization can not only be beneficial to extent the corporation's business, but also be help to increase the tax revenue which can be used to improve the social facilities and pollution control. Besides, with the increasing profits, the corporation might have the ability to create more jobs for the talent markets to motivate the elevation of the employment rate. Thus it is not difficult to see that a corporation with high profits is both necessary for its own operation and beneficial to the steadily development of the society.
On the other hand, corporations are one of the essential parts that compose the whole society, and their survival depend on the societies, thus it is necessary for them to feedback the societies by promoting the well-being of the societies and environments. Because a stable development society and comfortable environment would definitely accelerate the economic growth, stimulate consumption and at the same time promote the increase of the corporations’ profits, which as a whole can be regarded as a benign circulation. In addition, utilizing some profits that obtain from the society to repay the society is not thoroughly useless for the corporations. On the contrary, holding some charity undertakings can not only favor the disadvantaged groups who need the economic support, but also help to establish a nicer appearance and play an admirably propaganda for the corporations.
Moreover, the development of a corporation needs to utilize a lot of social recourses, such as finite energy, human recourse, and some processes of manufacture might even damage the natural environment. In this respect, it is the corporations' responsibility to take measures to make up their negative influence. Nowadays, more and more corporations began to exploit reproducible environmental energy to replace the common energy, such as the invention and spread of solar water heater, the development of new energy automobile and so on. Likewise, some mining activities that will damage the environment are stopped. Because more and more entrepreneurs have realized that even thought the short profits that obtain from these activities are efficiency and tempting, but in the long term, when all the energy is exhausted and harmonious environment is destroyed, the profits as well as the corporations would no longer exist.
In conclusion, it is inadvisable for corporations just focus on profits maximization within the law. As a matter of fact, promoting the well-being of the societies and environments just like the long-term investment, which could both make contribution to the society and bring continually benefits to the corporations’ development and expand. |
