对论述和长句语法比较没概念。。。。。。求各位指点!!
43. The increasingly rapid pace of life today causes more problems than it solves.
With the rapid development of science and technology, people step into a brand-new era. For instance, the internet connects the whole earth together and elevates people’s working efficiency; the new transports like automobiles, subways, high-speed rails and flights abridge the distance among cities and by which people can save a lot of time on the road. However the speaker asserts it is inevitable that more problems appear rather than be solved as the increasingly rapid pace of life. Actually I strongly agree with this statement.
The first plain truth, I am presenting here, is that the rapid pace of life has always resulted in health problems in unprecedented large numbers. After the world step into the twenty-first century, fast-pace lifestyle has become a trend spread all around the world, which is usually accompanied with enormous pressure, which would probably causes insomnia, dreaminess, backache, memory loss, irascibility and other mental illness. The more quickly the pace of people’s life, the more mental strain they need to undertake. Hence after a long time living and working with so much high psychological stress and anxiety, the mental illness would bring about seriously physical disease, like obesity, overeating, even cancers, sooner or later. There was an investigation researched by a community organization claimed that the rate of people who death from overwork has increased gradually every year and even the newest modern medical techniques could not save their vulnerable lives.
Furthermore, it has been argued that even though people today have more leisure time because of the increasing of their working efficiency, they are not in a better position that their ancestors to enjoy themselves. As a matter of fact, it is understandable that the quality of our leisure lives has decreased compare with the ancient times in certain circumstance. On the one hand, our living environment has been continuously damaged because of the rapid development of science and technology and the overlook of protecting the environment. In the past, our ancestors could go for a walk in the forests in spring and enjoy the beauty of nature everywhere. But nowadays more and more skyscrapers substitute for forests and the emissions of automobiles suffuse over cities, let alone the global warming, which endangers the climate extramalization. Therefore, due to the environment becoming worse day by day, modern citizens have little place to enjoy the flesh air and amazing natural scenery. It seems like staying at home is the best choice for them to relax. On the other hand, every traditional festival is extremely important for our ancestors to follow the tradition to get together with their families and friends and attend celebrations. But for modern people, those celebrations make no sense since they are too busy to remember them.
More unfortunately, people seem to have become addicted to the rapid pace of life. First of all, the constantly increasing desires and temptations make it impossible for people to slow down their pace of progress. It is human natural instincts to aspire success and affluence and absolutely nothing could eventually satisfy them. Moreover, even though they have spare time, they would prefer stay at home and sleep or play computer games because they are too tired and indolent after finishing so much work in weekdays. As a result, the distance between relatives and friends became more and more far away because of lacking of contact and communication. And it is very likely that some day the best friends of them will be machines as computers and mobile phones. Maybe only by continuously possession of materials can they fulfill themselves, but eventually people would probably lose themselves in it.
Nevertheless, we should not neglect the fact that the increasingly rapid pace of life is inevitable; it is the natural result of the development of society. However, even though a lot benefits are produced by the increasing pace of life, like the improvement of our living standard, the healthy competition that encourage people to excavate their potential. But according to those reasons I mentioned above, I still think the loss outweighs the gain. |
