Hello there, my friend! Let's start with the easiest questions. The major difference between R1 and R2 is that there are more slots available for international students in R1. So yes, assuming you are in China, R1 is better! As for your school choices, your scores all look pretty solid, and your ECs (particularly the Class leader and internships) will give you a good shot at PLENTY of programs. Now, where to apply? UT Austin, UIUC, Notre Dame, and USC all come to mind as great places for you to apply. Where do you want to be upon graduation? You wont be looking at top 10-20 schools most likely, so focus more on GEOGRAPHY. If you want to hit this year's R1 deadlines, though, you'd better get started soon... like NOW! Hope this all helped, my friend, and feel free to reach out if you need more advice. Jon Frank -- by 会员 JonFrank (2012/9/12 18:21:00)
Wow, Jon, glad to hear from you! And thank you so much for your advice. My GMAT test is drawing on, so I will start my application as soon as I finish the GMAT. But I'm not sure I can hit the R1 deadlines of all the programs I'd like to apply. Maybe I should put priority on some programs in order to get more chances in R1 as you said. So which kind of school do you think I had better prepare first, dreaming schools or less desirable ones? Also, I really hope to get an internship in America, so geography seems to be more important than school rank. I would appreaciate it if you could give me some advice on the areas in which accounting related programs are more helpful to job hunting. Thanks very much for help in advance.
