Issue 115 题目: Government officials should rely on their own judgment rather than unquestioningly carry out the will of the people whom they serve.
Write a response in which you discuss the extent to which you agree or disagree with the statement and explain your reasoning for the position you take. In developing and supporting your position, you should consider ways in which the statement might or might not hold true and explain how these considerations shape your position. ======================================================================================== 时间 31 字数 497 ======================================================================================== Should government officials rely on their own judgment or unquestioningly carry out the will of the people whom they serve? The speaker agrees with the former, but I don't quite agree with him. The government's judgments are not always good for the nation's development for it is sometimes unconsidered comprehensively. On the contrary, the will of the people often reflects the true need of the nation. But as for whether government officials should carry out unquestioningly, I prefer the idea that it should also be measured before the implementation.
Governments' judgments are after all determined by a small group of people in the nation. There is likely that those small parts of people cannot represent the people of the whole nation, and as a consequence, the ideas of them are sometimes partial. Some people may argue that the government's taking into account of their own ideas can prevent the government's swaggering too much, and it will embody the efficiencies of a government. Admittedly, this argument is the only advantage of relying on their own judgments; however, flaws in this condition have been neglected. As we all know, a nation is majorly comprised by people, leaders are chosen by the people to make people's life better. Just considering their own judgments, especially those who consider the interests of their own too much, the government officials will be subverted by the people.
Turning next to the will of the people whom government officials serve, we can recognize that people's willingness is the thing that a government has to consider. Regardless of people's own will is a dangerous situation that a nation is in. For instance, if people of a country cannot make their meets end every month as a consequence of the bad government, people there will be less and less consolidated by the government. And the government will be subverted by the people. The will of people is always no doubt mostly needed for a country, and meeting people's need is the most fundamental things that a nation has to do.
As for whether government officials should carry out people's suggestions unquestioningly, I believe that they should not. Although people's will is always good for the nation, there are chances that people are made used of by some pedagogues. In this way, some coteries with bad considerations will make some sabotage to the country, and the government should definitely minimize the probability of these events which can eventually lead to a coup. But if the they both evaluate people's and the government interests, like the cause of senate and the house of representatives in the United States, the nation will be a success for hundreds of years.
To sum up, government officials should not take into account their own judgment only, they should consider people's will more in the assumption that people are not used by some bad coteries. Only in this way can a nation develop and become more and more legal and prosperous in the world. |
