it depends on whether you are doing ops for banking or s&t. i have heard people went directly from trading ops (settlements) to the real trading, and that was not uncommon. and yes you need to network your ass off and some luck to make it. on the other hand, ops for banking is the worst job you can expect in finance.

Some guys here are not extremely aggessive, but not eveybody is trying to move to front desk. How bad is it if a you end up being a MD of ops at BB? You will earn at least more than millions annually in shanghai. It's not as good as being a trader, but not bad, right?

Ops and FO do have huge gap, I don't know anybody at settlements going to desk successfully. Trade support may have better chance. It's not uncommon if you sitting with structured desk, but being at structured means you need to work very very long hours everyday. After you become a strucutured trader, you will find the life is even worse...

薪水其实也挺不错的，美女很多哦
个人认为，大摩的公司体制和氛围都比四大要好，性价比高啦
