[求助]class of honors 怎么填？

apply 时出来的选择：

class of honors  

选择有：

first class honors

2nd class honors

2nd class  (Upper)

2nd class (lower)

3rd class honors

pass

pass with merits

cum laude

magna cum laude

summa cum laude

完全被这些等级搞昏了。 有人知道first class honor 和pass with merit,  cum laude,  magna cum laude 之间的区别嘛？

我们学校根本没有这些等级， 我的GPA 87/100左右。 毕业论文： 优。 应该怎么填呀。 magna cum laude 肯定不是是不能填的， 还没那么厉害的说。

问题是， 大多数中国学校都没有这些分类。 问了岂不是明白的告诉他们偶填的class of honor 其实是不准的？

偶的意思是告诉他们国内没有这种等级划分，只有班内排名等等，（说实在的，偶也是不明白它指的是一等生，二等生还是什么一级荣誉什么的）介绍下自己的情况，比如在班内排名，或是曾获什么国家级，或市级荣誉等等，请他们帮忙判断一下应该选择哪个...

不过当然了，偶也是初级申请者，完全没有实战经验，也许不是个好主意....

Graduate with honor is under British system. Each school has own definition. (eg. avg. score > 85, then 1st honor, 75<avg. score < 84, then 2nd upper, etc.)

Similarily, pass with merit is under US system. Different shcool has different standard.(eg. GPA>3.8, samma cum laude, 3.8<GPA<3.6, then magna cum laude..etc)

In your case, I suggest that you should calcualte your avg. score, then classify yourself.

It probably doesn't matter since the AdCom can obviously tell from your application that you're from an Asian country which doesn't use the honor systems of UK or US. I think what they really want to know is how you have performed compared with your classmate. (You can have a 3.6 GPA but it's meaningless if everyone else in your class also have ~3.5 GPA.)

US schools use: Summa Cum Laude (the highest), Magna Cum Laude, and Cum laude. Each school has its own way of determining the honors. UK schools use: first class honor, second and so on.

I would suggest you to estimate your class rank and fill it in if you can. It will hopefully give the AdCom an indication of where you stand comparing with the rest of your graduating class.
