1.The average (arithmetic mean) score on a test taken by 10 students was x.If the average score for 5 of the students was 8, what was the average score, in terms of x, for the remaining 5 students who took the test?

A.2x - 8

E.8 -x/2 答案选A 是怎么算的呢？
2.A certain right triangle has sides of length x, y, and z, where x < y < z.If the area of this triangular region is 1, which of the following indicates all of the possible values of y ?

第一题，如果10个学生，平均数为x，他们total得分就是10x，其中5人平均得8分,=40分。剩下的5人就=10x-40。平均分就使（10x-40 )/5 ,简化之后就是 2x-8.

y是两条直角边中较长的一条，0.5xy=1，所以xy=2，因为x＜y，所以y^2＞2，直接选出A。

第一题思路对了其实很简单，全部10人成绩和（S10）除以10=X，其中5人和（S5）除以5=8，
另外5人的成绩和=S10-S5;
故另外5人的平均成绩公示为：（ S10-S5）/5=S10/5-S5/5=2(S10/10)-8=2X-8

第二题：
XY=2(面积公式转化），设X=Y，Y=根号2，题干条件X<y,故Y>根号2
