答案是E，我想问“；”后面的语法要求是什么，还有就是这里in addition to 和besides...的用法要求和区别是什么？

选项分析:
(A) it指代错误，不能指代复数名词brewed leaves，有疑似指代subject的嫌疑；
(B) possibility和to do的搭配错；it指代错误，不能指代复数名词brewed leaves，有疑似指代subject的嫌疑；
(C) 同位语从句possibility that不如possibility of doing简洁；prevents and inhibits 不符合逻辑，应改为or；
it指代错误，不能指代复数名词brewed leaves，有疑似指代subject的嫌疑；
(D) 用possible preventing不如possibly preventing；和主句的in doing不能保持平行
(E) Correct；preventing or inhibiting和主句的reducing保持平行（形合），从这一点上可以马上排除其他
选项，而不用去考虑preventing和inhibiting之间是用or还是and

nah, preventing and inhibiting cannot happen simultaneously. just like damage and destory cannot happen simultaneously.

"semicolon" must be followed by a clause! this clause is completely independent from the preceding sentence.

"In addition to" and "Besides", hmmmmm, in this example i think they are the same....
