这样背景的应该申请什么类型什么档次的MBA？

国内工科专业背景毕业，学计算机的，后入职中兴通讯，海外销售三年（欧洲，印度），后家庭变故回国入职华为，做Marketing/BD，约2年，成家后不太愿意Travel，入IBM，在Comm里面做Sr. Client Rep.，开始准备GMAT，拟10月份考，期望700+的分数，不知道什么样的学校或什么档次MBA可以申请？是否G考完后还要考T？

The GMAT in this case will be very important for you—it sounds like you didn’t go to a top 2-3 college in China, so they will need to see a strong GMAT (well in excess of 700) to measure your intellectual capacity. I love all the international background that you have, and I love that you are working for IBM—that will go a long way for sure. You can place out of the TOEFL if you studied your college in English. Did you? If yes, no need to take the TOEFL. Otherwise, you WILL need to take it—and youll wanna get as closed to 110 as possible. If you can do all these things, you should be very successful this year indeed. Good luck!

Does the brand name IBM really carry so much weight in bschool? It's a good tech firm for sure, but I think it doesn't shine as much as it used to, say 10 years ago; new rogues like google/facebook/amazon seem to be much more attractive these day

Hey there! Yes, of course google and facebook etc. are very popular now. But especially for international candidates, the idea of having a blue chip US-based company on the resume is VERY important. This means that those applicants with such experiences, for example, speak better English, have a better understanding of western business practices, etc. It is a HUGE boost for our clients from China. And by the way, IBM has one of the fanciest consulting gigs around; or at least it used to when I graduated from HBS in 2005…hope this helps my friend. J Good luck!
