Suppose each men can pump A liters of water per minute. Then:
1) X * A * Z = Y
2) Y * A* X = Z

And the question asks 1 man need how many minutes to pump X*Y*Z liter of water.

Answer = (X * Y * Z) / A

It is obvious that Y= Z.
So A = 1/X.
So Answer = X^2 * Y^2

Now you can analyze the two conditions given and decide which one can give your a definite number for X^2 * Y^2 .
