AA-119~~~~求思路~~~~求解释~~~感觉题目有点自相矛盾。。

119. The following is from an editorial that appeared in a River City newspaper.
“The Clio Development Group wants to build a multilevel parking garage on Dock Street in River City, but the plan should not be approved. Most of the buildings on the block would then have to be demolished. Because these buildings were erected decades ago, they have historic significance and must therefore be preserved as economic assets in the effort to revitalize a restored riverfront area. Recall how Lakesburg has benefited from business increases in its historic downtown center. Moreover, there is plenty of vacant land for a parking lot elsewhere in River City.”

对这篇AA,我有点困惑...不知是不是我理解上有偏差~~请明白的人帮忙解释下~

1、既然他们有历史价值,为什么又说要拆掉他们呢?

2、they have historic significance and must therefore be preserved as economic assets in the effort to revitalize a restored riverfront area,既然是历史价值,为什么must therefore be preserved as economic asset?历史和economic asset有什么关系吗 ?搞不懂··

最后···求思路~~因为 看得不是太明白。。。感谢~

题目没有矛盾。

题目的思路是River City不应该建这个立体停车场,因为这个街区的房子有历史价值,从而可以带来经济价值,而且举了Lakesburg的例子。

可以几个方面反驳

- Lakesburg从保留历史建筑获益,不一定Dock Street这个街区也能获益
- 立体停车场一定需要拆掉很多房子么?
- ....

修停车场必然要拆掉大多数建筑吗?

年代久远的建筑就有历史价值吗?
3、Recall how Lakesburg has benefited from business increases in its historic downtown center.
Lakesburg和River City具有很强的可比性吗?
4、there is plenty of vacant land for a parking lot elsewhere in River City
可以随便找空地建停车场?停车场的选址需要考虑的不只是vacant land,还有利用率。。。

第一天看AWA的材料,时间紧张,直接看JJ,看着这题。非牛人,个人的看法而已

我的想法
1. 停車場不一定要往上蓋
  也可以往下蓋 也就是地下停車場 這樣不會影響到建築物
2. 建築物是否有獨特性  或許其他城鎮都有此種幾十年的建築物
3. 錯誤類比 怎可用他城的成功來推論此方法在這可行
   交通 氣候  人口 ...都是影響計畫成功的因素
