忘各位斑斑、大牛给点方向。 写的时候总觉得异常干涩,平时读书、看报经常被惊艳,当时念个两遍也记不住。 到自己下笔时,论据、视角都觉牵强,语言就更难受。
028. Television, newspaper, magazine pay too much attention on the personal lives of famous people such as public figures and celebrities.
It seems a little bit true that television, newspaper andmagazine pay pretty much attention on the personal lives of public figures. Butwe can do a more considerate and detailed analysis before we draw a conclusion. In my opinion, this statement is too superficial to be persuasive.
Each media has its target customer, and each program has itsown focus. HBO always airs TV series, while ESPN provides comprehensive sportcoverage. People brings usentertainment news of celebrities that is separated from pure gossip, while Dialogueinvites successful people from varied field to discuss ad hoc topic, to sharetheir valuable experience, and to listen their opinion. So you will not find anordinary guy be the cover story of People,of course you will never see the Chairman of FED sharing the soap dramaexperience on air. Some pay more attention to the ordinary life like yours ormine, while others set the celebrities as flag and hot point.
Furthermore, in some specific situations, public figures areexemplary and they really can make it work. In some extent, they are sosuccessful not just because they are lucky guys but probably because they workharder and more smartly than you and me. It’s a good thing if they’d like to sharetheir stories from which you can get some inspirations or suggestion. You won’tcount on an ordinary people to tell you how to gain so much from investment, but Warren Buffett can do. You won’t believe a junior teach you how to managean international company, but Jack Welch can do. Therefore, paying a little bitof attention on them maybe would lead you into another world, at least giveyour some new perspectives.
Admittedly, some media step out much more than the normalexpectation and bear limitation. They are so hungry to find tiny stuff of famouspeople and sell it for money. However, fortunately, most of them have takenappropriate action and get the balance between the exposure of celebrities andthe exemplarity of public figures. |
