答案是C， 但是出现了两个it; 第一个it 是形式宾语， 第二个it指代material  

问题是 这两个it不应该同时出现在一个句子中， 形式主语和形式宾语在句子中都有明确指代，不可出现第二个it指代。望大牛解释解释

形式宾语没关系的

根据白勇等语法书，them/they/their在同一句里出现，都应该指代同一事物，但这里的them和their指代的也不是一个事物。但其它选项里都有their，而且还有别的错误，所以排除了。

刚发现，这两句有个共性，都是两个并列的that从句中的两个相同代词指代不同事物。我的分析是，如果第一个it是在主句出现，那么后边两个分句的it一定要跟第一个相对，但如果两个分句各自出现相同代词，则优先就近指代。

GMAT的出题的目的是从5个选项里选最好的，并不是要说明正确选项一定是最优的表达

形式宾语不是代词啊

只有代词才有这个限制呢
