本科申请的话，本科上过什么课非常非常地重要

今天跟一个推荐的老师聊得一下，推荐什么都聊得很好，不过老师很坦诚地给了点意见。我觉得这里如果有更年轻的朋友可以早作准备。

我是跨专业申请，所以平时主要做了很多research，ra的经验一大把。我老师是做过很多年economics phd admission committee的，不过他说他也不了解商学院，但就他的意见，我没有上过phd level的econometrics 和microeconomics是很大的硬伤，所以我最好多用一些时间去上phd level的课。光是ra没用，从背景上来看，对business school phd的准备还是很不足。

大家还有机会的多去修点那种课吧。

基本只有在牛校，才会有前50的交流机会，才有可能上phd level的课，因为别的phd candidate也不是很care成绩，所以拿高分不难。
如果本科就在美国，想不牛都不行。

俺上过econometrics（不是introductory to econometrics)和中级microeconomics（按老师挺变态，用高级的教材讲了一学期的数学课，当时为了gpa想过退课，后来坚持下来还得了90+），不知道phd level是什么样的???。。。

You are not in America, so if you can't do it, it's fine, but I am in the states, and I could have taken all those phd level courses. That's what my classmates have done, so it is a huge problem in my case since I am majoring in a field that has nothing to do with math or economics.

Almost all school use Mas-Colell book as textbook in teaching Adv Micro. Generally speaking, they teach price theory and game theory in Adv Micro I, and Genereal equilibrium and information economics in II. I think the topics for econometrics in under level and adv level may be not different, but the depth differs a lot.

There are still many schools which did not use Mas-Colell. For exp, chicago did not use any BOOK or just notes, anyway the teacher is nobel level.
Having phd level course will be better than none for undergrads, although it is no big deal.

I have read some notes of Advanced Microeconomics, but many are compiled based on Mas-Colell , afterall, it's a very classical textbook.
