182 Many people have a close relationship with their pets. These people treat their birds, cats, or other animals as members of their family. In your opinion, are such relationships good? Why or why not? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer

Jack, time to eat. Jane, time to take a bath. You hear it? Very nice mom right? Yes, very nice mom. But, here Jack is a male dog and Jane is a female cat. These moms’ kids are also those cute dogs and cats, not only their boys and girls.

Many people like pets deeply while others do not. This latter people simply regard pets as dirty and too naughty to tame. They may also have seen risks of epidemics. All this is understandable. Things on this world all have their own pros and cons. Perfection simply does not exist.

I like pets. Pets can compensate people with emotional loss. Pace of living in this world is too quick. Working people are suffering great pressure from their job. They need comfort when they are off business. A pet, such as a dog, can offer this. Imagine your happiness when your little Jack rushing to greet you home when you were opening the door. Not only working people are comforted, but also those retired. People not only suffer when they are working, but also during their retirement. Our elders are always eager for meaningful time spending with their children. Unfortunately, this wish is rarely satisfied. Their kids, more often than not, are simply too busy to pay their parents a visit. Some more considerate kids send their parents pets. And this works. My neighbor Old Wang is quite happy these days. You can hear his laughter way more often then before. Why? His daughter sent him a lovely cat, which is his main source of joy.

Pets not only serve people emotionally. Pets remind us of how precious animals are. According to data from scientists, animals on our planets are becoming extinct at a frightening quick pace. People log lumbers without any considerations for those animals live in forest. People spill oil into ocean recklessly from time to time, depriving fish of their lives and their habitat. People burn fossil fuels to cause climate change, which now endanger the existence of polar bear…Among all these grim scenarios, there is a role for our pet to play: They serve to remind people, if they can love their Jacks and Janes, why not love those other animals which are equally lovely? After all, all animals can be our friends, if we care about being their friends.
