The tutorial, section instructions, exit screens, and Background Information Question (BIQ) section are not timed in the GMATPrep™ software but will be timed during the GMAT™ exam. You may want to spend extra time on these screens in the GMATPrep™ software to familiarize yourself with them before you take the actual test. The optional break screens are not timed in the GMATPrep™ software but will be timed when you sit for the exam. For the length of the optional breaks, refer to www.mba.com. Keep in mind that, if you exceed the time allowed for one of the optional breaks during the GMAT™ exam, the extra time will be deducted from the time available to complete the next section of exam material (the Quantitative or Verbal section). In the GMATPrep™ software, you are permitted to move back and forth between the screens in the preliminary sections of the practice exams (the Welcome screen, the Nondisclosure Agreement, the school selection screen, and the tutorial). In the GMAT™ exam, you will not be able to return to a previous section once you have completed it. During the practice tests in the GMATPrep™ software, you can select Show Answer and Check Answer buttons to display answers and check your work once you completed the practice test and reached the Review screen. In addition, the GMATPrep™ software contains a Show Flag for Review feature that allows you to mark questions you may want to return to later. These two buttons and the Flag for Review feature are not available during the GMAT™ exam. After completing a GMATPrep™ practice test, you will see scores for the Quantitative and Verbal sections; however, the Analytical Writing Assessment is not scored in the GMATPrep™ software. Keep in mind that the GMATPrep™ practice tests are meant to illustrate GMAT™ content and are not accurate predictors of performance on the GMAT™.
