uhm, depends how u define "low"... I know that in US big four, the starting salary is about 40K usd/year (07 data, maybe outdated now..), but the tax is quite heavy (about 30%).. In HK, the starting salary is even worse, this year it is 11500hkd/mth, but after 2 years it will increase to over 20khkd/month, probalby over 25K hkd if u pass cpa exams.. If u reach manager level (normally takes 5 years) ur salary will be 45K to 50K /mth. Honestly, it's nth compared to Ibanks, but relatively stable.. and lower risk of being laid off.. Down side is, too boring and long hours........ As to "way out", really depends... Some go to ibank front/middle/back office, some go to top bschool, and some go to industry and become financial controller/CFO.. really depends.... |
