It seems to me that you are shaping your career for a MBA rather than shaping your career for your future career aspirations. Take a good look at your skill sets and opportunities around you and see if you can accomplish your career goals without a MBA first. As a rule of thumb, MBA should be your last resort. While leadership experience is a critical factor for the admission's committee, adcome also take into account leadership potential. If you have been following the "In at ......schoool" posts by sucessful applicants this year, you will notice that many sucessful applicants to top 15 programs only have 2-4 years of work experience. Take me for example, I will attend Darden this fall but a colleague/friend with 3 years less work exp is attending HBS. However, it does take more work to convince adcom of something intangible such as "potential". Now what I don't understand is that why you would want to get a MBA after a MSF from LSE. Do you have an offer from LSE already? What kind of responsibilities do you have now? With couple of years of solid quant/finance work/exp under your belt you can probably start as an associate or a 3rd year analyst after LSE. You might want to get a CFA afterwards to complete your resume. Good luck |
