8.举例，锁定C和E，但E选项后半部分错误，所以选C
9.只看这一句话：Dispelling researchers’ initial doubts, computer models have confirmed that ……
题干问的是有什么作用，从语法的角度说，上面这句话中主句的主语即是前面分词短语的逻辑主语，也就是说，computer models干了这么一件事：dispel researchers’ initial doubts，文章前面只提到了一处doubts，也就是所谓的superswell。所以直接选C，E选项属于定位错误。

Q9感觉好阴险，错了之后又想了好久才有点明白，我的理解是这样的：
首先定位到第二段中研究者的怀疑：until recently geophysicists were skeptical of its ability to lift or lower the planet’s surface vertically (注意：此处研究者的怀疑是XX能不能举起surface)
另外，从最后一句话可以得知XX可以举起mantle，又可以举起surface（原句：computer models have confirmed that this formation is buoyant enough to rise slowly within the mantle and strong enough to push Africa upward as it rises.——注意原句中有一层递进关系,先举起mantle，再可以举起surface，其实常识也可以说明，地心中的熔岩运动肯定是要先举起地幔，然后再举起地表--毕竟地幔在地表下面，同时举起了mantle不一定能举起surface，举起了surface一定可以举起mantle）

然后再来看选项
A: confirm doubts有可能是确认了调查者的怀疑，意思反了，
E: 只说了可以举起mantle，并么有说能不能举起surface，不对，
D: 造成了superswell，那么就说明可以举起surface，那么也可以举起mantle

Q9有NN能解释一下A为什么错吗？第二段第三句“until recently geophysicists were skeptical of its ability to lift or lower the planet’s surface vertically”，那么为什么不能对应A选项呢？
