To my best knowledge, most US Corporation have three finance related departments /functions: 1. Controller group - "In most organizations the controller is the top managerial and financial accountant. The controller supervises the accounting department and assists management in interpreting and utilizing managerial accounting information." Most controllers are CPAs. Controller is very important group for public company. I am not familar with private company. 2. Corporate Development - M&As and Divestures. Corporate development involves both corporate finance and business development. People may have very diversified background. CPA,MBA,Legal and BD. Strong financial skill is a must. You may have to know everything and rely on expert's opinions to make decisions. 3. Treasure. "The treasury department is responsible for all of a company's financing and investing activities". Debt financing for acquisitions, credit rating and pension investment etc. 4. Others. These three groups have their daily job. At the same time, they support each other too. They all creat value for shareholers and their employee. they are all very important. some positions may include but not limited: - Treasurer:

- Internal auditor:
- Tax professional
- Corporate Development Director/Manger
