[分享]关于Yale SOM的一些信息

最近跟Yale SOM的1Y student聊了一下，有点信息跟大家分享一下。下面有部分是直接copy自该student的信，有些是我稍做整理。因为是free conversation，比较随意，大家别像做GMAT一样挑语法错噢~~^_^

此姐姐在Yale的第一学期（11月）生下了第一个小宝宝，宝宝长得特别可爱，呵呵~ 在学习如此紧张的情况下，还能顾着家庭，并在面试开始的一个月内就拿到三个offer，真是很不简单~

1. Typical Day at Yale SOM

8:15Am class, I need walk 20 minutes to school, so wake up like 7:30AM, and grab a bread, and go.

Then class from 8:15Am to 9:35AM, change room for next class from 10AM to 11:20AM. Lunch time, JP morgan presentation from 11:45AM to 1M.

1:00PM to 2:20PM class. 2:40 to 4:00PM class. Rest a little, but sometimes, have group meeting from 4-6PM. Corporation presentation form 6-8PM..sometimes have multiple corporation events, till 9:00PM. Go home start to read and do homework, from 9PM to 1AM. Sometimes, to 3AM, sometimes, no sleep at all.

Student activities are in evening, multi events, you have choices which one will go to…things like this all the time..except Saturday and Sunday, which is slightly better.

Conclusion: At Yale, You will be busy all the time... too many things to learn, but lot of fun too.

2. International Exchange Program

Yale刚刚announce了一个International Exchange Program，学生在第二年可以有机会去下面四个学校之一交流一个学期：LSE（伦敦政治经济学院，如雷灌耳，呵呵）， IESE（西班牙的学校，case-method，我超喜欢），印度商学院（喜欢吃咖喱的可以申一下^_^)，清华商学院（想回国扩展一下network的可以申）。

3. Student Body & Career Development

The most advantage is that when you are looking for job, you just have so many choices and less competition than the school with large student body. At Yale, students are very diversified and do not concentrate on finance. So if you want to do finance, you will have a lot of choices.  All the major banks come to Yale.

I am from Environmental engineering, and I already have 3 offers by now. The interview just started for a month. A lot of interview are going on, so some of still are interviewing, but two others Chinese got American Express, I will go to GE energy finance, and one go to Hong Kong Merrill Lynch, one might go to BP, one is waiting for Standard and Poor. Since the first months are more finance type. The other types will come later, If you are not doing finance, you will look for jobs until May.

Yale的中国学生不多，所以sample数比较小，仅供参考。
