帮忙解答下面几道数学题,谢谢哈
1 For a finite sequence of nonzero numbers, the number of variations in sign is defined as the number of pairs of consecutive terms of the sequence for which the product of the two consecutive terms is negative.
What is the number of variations in sign for the sequence 1, -3, 2, 5, -4, -6 ? 红色部分的意思不明白

(A) One
(B) Two
(C) Three
(D) Four
(E) Five

2
If a certain sample of data has a mean of 20.0 and a standard deviation of 3.0, which of the following values is more than 2.5 standard deviations from the mean?

(A) 12.0
(B) 13.5
(C) 17.0
(D) 23.5
(E) 26.5

3
A certain office supply store stocks 2 sizes of self-stick notepads, each in 4 colors:
blue, green, yellow, or pink.
The store packs the notepads in packages that contain either 3 notepads of the same size and the same color or 3 notepads of the same size and of 3 different colors.
If the order in which the colors are packed is not considered, how many different packages of the types described above are possible?

(A)6
(B)8
(C)16
(D)24
(E)32

4
In a survey of students, each student selected from a list of 12 songs the 2 songs that the student liked best.
If each song was selected 4 times, how many students were surveyed?

(A) 96
(B) 48
(C) 32
(D) 24
(E) 18

5
The main ingredient in a certain prescription drug capsule costs $500.00 per kilogram.
If each capsule contains 600 milligrams of the ingredient, what is the cost of the ingredient in a capsule? (1 kilogram = 10^6 milligrams)

(A) $0.30
(B) $0.83
(C) $1.20
(D) $3.00
(E) $3.33

C:

variations in sign = number of pairs of consecutive terms of the sequence for which the product of the two consecutive terms is negative

so u can ask the same question differently like this..."What is the number of pairs of consecutive terms of the sequence for which the product of the two consecutive terms is negative.

2

(A)6
(B)8
(C)16
(D)24
(E)32

C---2C4,3+2C4,3=16

4
In a survey of students, each student selected from a list of 12 songs the 2 songs that the student liked best.
If each song was selected 4 times, how many students were surveyed?

(A) 96
(B) 48
(C) 32
(D) 24
(E) 18

D: 12*4/2=24

5

(A) $0.30
(B) $0.83
(C) $1.20
(D) $3.00
(E) $3.33
A-----500*600/ 10^6

so u can ask the same question differently like this..."What is the number of pairs of consecutive terms of the sequence for which the product of the two consecutive terms is negative.

2
If a certain sample of data has a mean of 20.0 and a standard deviation of 3.0, which of the following values is more than 2.5 standard deviations from the mean?

(A) 12.0
(B) 13.5
(C) 17.0
(D) 23.5
(E) 26.5

2.5 std deviation = 2.5*3 = 7.5

and 20-7.5 = 12.5 and 20+7.5 = 27.5..so you need to choose one value which is lower than 12.5 or higher than 27.5

and 20-7.5 = 12.5 and 20+7.5 = 27.5..so you need to choose one value which is lower than 12.5 or higher than 27.5

and 20-7.5 = 12.5 and 20+7.5 = 27.5..so you need to choose one value which is lower than 12.5 or higher than 27.5

the only value which is lower than 12.5 or higher than 27.5 is 12...rest all of them in the range between 12.5 and 27.5
