一道JJ SC的疑惑

i confirmed this SC with a native speaker who is the trainner of TOEFL grammar, the following is his reason:

only c and d are possible because the subject of "prevented" is "its acoustic energy", therefore "its acoustic energy" should precede the verb or gerund.both a and d ar possible but c is a more efficient structure.

and i also prefer C.

再补充一点E选的, Ving放句尾表结果亦或伴随前面主句动作,

但本主句表示Sound can travel through water for enormous distances并不会有造成preventing……….的动作所以E删…….
