第一次发帖,算是第一篇作文,对CDer的景仰却不止一次。:-) 字数和时间掌握得很不好。。。别的就更。。。从零做起。 两星期后就考试了,请大家不吝赐教。 谢谢! 132. If you could invent something new, what product would you develop? Use specific details to explain why this invention is needed.
As my knowledge enlarging and experience growing, I learned that inventing a useful and beneficial tool would be important to people in this developing and competitive society. So, what kind of products of tools would I like to develop best? At this time, according to the headaches people facing wildly and generally plus my own desire, I would say it would be an "English studying machine". There are a couple of specific reasons I am going to present below. First of all, I state I would invent an English studying machine because English has been a must-learn skill for people nowadays. English is considered as the international language because of its wide use on the planet. Magazines, radios, advertisements, in a coffee shop or an airplane, even among myriad lyrics of pop music, English as an language also a culture is everywhere by people's sides. People could not bear that they do not know how to pronounce and do not understand the English words that are printed on their T-shirts. They thus are eager to, and have to deal with this language, probably need to train their English skills hard if they are willing to catch up the pace of the development of the world and get along with the society. Furthermore, you would agree with me on that, a city or a country would be belittled if their English notice boards standing on the streets have a fair proportion of grammar or spelling errors. Therefore, it is on no account we deny the importance of learning English, not only for people, but also for a society. If I could invent a product of English studying, accordingly, it must be meaningful on this point of view. Secondly, the process of learning English is a fairly long way that may spend a quite long time for most of people. In addition, those years they dedicate to it are perhaps their most creative and enjoyable age. For instance, in the country I grew up, students start learning English from elementary school at about eleven years old, and finally end up at their graduations of university or at other ends of their education. A great number of them still tend to improve their English skills after joining in international companies. This way of studying a language has to be simply described as long if you have experienced. As I am concerned, I wish the students could have a language studying machine on this way. They may use it to learn English by themselves but no need to follow other people's paces. Because a machine has a flexible time schedule, students could adjust their studying process as they fit best, in order to train their language skills as efficient and reasonable as possible. Last but not least, individuals improving English skills might accelerate the development of the world. Why do I make this point? It is because English is the only language that is to communicate top-level technologies in the world. Scientists public their hypothesizes and theories on magazines in English; Economists use English to present speeches in influential conferences; A medical doctor, even if she does not work in an English-speaking country, she still has to write the terminologies on prescriptions in English; on the other hand, she must read unaccountable amount of English articles relative to up-to-date biology and chemistry innovation, probably including some new information about medical instruments, to be responsible to and save her patiences’ lives. Let me make an assumption, if this warm-hearted doctor's English composing and communication skills are not solid, she could not convey her successful experiences of saving people's lives to the world or would not convey her research concretely and exactly. If an English studying machine is by her side, it would serve a function of a studying tool that would be helpful to perfect her English, and throughout this, her experience would be learned by other medical doctors through her papers and talks, other patiences having the same disease could be benefited. In some extreme cases, as far as I know, there is not a small amount of intellect experts could not step into the holy academic field only because of their unfavorable English skills, and therefore struggle in ordinate and poor lives. Nevertheless, if they have a machine for improving English, they might eventually be scholars and share their creative thinking and ideas with the world. If I could invent and produce something new, it would firmly be an English studying machine. And after I wrote down those reasons above, this desire is becoming even stronger. Again, appreciate your time and critical comments. //bow
