Generally speaking, you are right. But RPI is definately a very good private school. Its engineering ranking is top 33 , and its university ranking is in top 50 according to the USNEWS. It is one of the oldest engineering schools. Its MBA ranking is not good (top56 this year) , only because it is too small, doesn't stress finance and marketing, mainly has been focusing on technology and engineering entrepreneurship. Once my classmate studied for his PHD in RPI, he recommended me its advantages. It is a famous research center in engineering. Thank you for your idea!
