Dear Sir/Madam,
Thank you for your offer to the XXXX MBA program. I regret that I am unable to accept your offer of the position in the XXXXX MBA Class of 2009.
As you may be aware, I have received as many as 7,000 offers annually. In a pool where virtually every school offers significant academic difference or career potential, demonstrates leadership ability, and attractive finacial aid, my job of selecting the entering class is extremely difficult. I am left with the unpleasant task of denying admission to many fine schools which would, no doubt, succeed academically at the MBA market with standard of excellence.
Let me assure you that your offer received a thorough review by several members of the my family. As a policy, we do not pre-screen offers, but give each school full consideration. The fact that you did not receive an phone call of my family members in no way reflects your reputation, acadmic achievements, or potential for a successful ranking on BusinessWeek.
I will keep your offer on file for two years. If you plan to re-offer during this period and would like feedback on your offer, kindly contact my home at 123.456.7890 beginning the week of May 7, 2007 to schedule a feedback session. Sessions are conducted by telephone; appointments fill up quickly and are offered on a first come, first served basis.
For instructions on the re-offer process, please follow the procedures that will be included in next year's offer (available online in August 2007). All reaoffers will be reviewed within the context of the overall offer pool at that time.
Thank you again for your interest in me. I wish you success in your business, as well as in your academical and ranking endeavors.
