C. BOTH statements TOGETHER are sufficient, but NEITHER statement ALONE is sufficient.

E. Statements (1) and (2) TOGETHER are NOT sufficient.

Answer: C

我觉得好像答案错了。

因为对于（1）：可以列出式子：x+y=100 和 1*x+2*y=200。求出x＝0，y＝100。

也就是买一本书的没有一个人，买两本书的有100个人。

这样做不对么？

答案没有错。

两个条件并列起来看。根据条件2， 则还有160本书是被80个人买的。另外根据条件1，则这80个人不是买了3本就是1本。

令买3本的x人，买1本的y 人

x+y=80

3x+y=160

就能求出啦

1*x+2*y=200

这是不定方程，有很多组解

条件2说买两本的是20

如果这样的话，X就有了

这样的话解是唯一的。
