U of Michigan vs Georgia Institute and Technology

8 years ago, Columbia was the only major school that offers such program. The graduate can pick and choose jobs. Average salary was around 130k-160k.

Now, many major schools have joined the party. If you look around, you will see they pop up just in last five years. Now, it is a common program offered by a lot of schools. The salary is going down as well. The average salary now stands at 80k-90k for good schools

If you have ever visited the classroom, you will see tons of chinese and indians. the differenciation factor is not that much among them. And your future job pays well but does not provide much of the career path.(note: there are always exceptions) So once the vacancies are filled, it is hard to open up again.

If you are on f-1, things will get complicated more. so my suggestion is to get in now and pick good schools. at least the network is there for you. Two to three years from now, this area will be down even further.

Thanks for your sharing. How do you know this information? Compared to other majors, there are still not many schools offering this program. Sometimes I really get confused about what on earth the program is. I like financial modelling. But I still have to pay attention to the career future. Also since I have to pay the tuition by myself, so that's a little risky. I don't know why I prefer to Georgia Tech. Is that program in Georgia Tech good or not?
