分析：recognize是及物动词，其后应接名词性的成份作宾语。(D)是名词词组，故选(D)。(B)看似省掉that的宾语从句，但fat前的定冠词the是错误的。(C)如改为how much fat则在句子结构上亦是正确的。

上面的解释是cd提供的，其中本人对选项b和d迷惑。

b的the的确不好，让人感觉此处fat特指不妥，

d的定冠词我也有不解的地方：

1, the body's need for fat, 这个the 是 特指body 还是need呢，'the body' means  people's body but not "the body of trees".  感觉应该是 the need for fat, 这样的话这里不是已经有了body's吗？"the need for fat" is nothing wrong.  but 没说是谁的need.

我们知道the + 物主代词肯定不好，比如the my need肯定不对，agree   那这里用所有格body's可以吗？不确定！ 2.如果the 是特指body's的话，这个语法现象怎么解释呢？"the body" is a fixed phrase.            the body = a noun.
