I went to hanover from new york. i booked the garyhound ticket and motel stay 2 weeks earler. It took me about 6 hours to get to whiteriver junction at vermount. then I took a cab from the bus station to the motel. I was going to rent a car, but weather was horrible, so i just gave up driving.
I stayed at the motel for one night. I rode the free bus to the campus the next morning. Finished everything at the admission office around 3 oclock. I then walked around the campus. Walked 3 miles back to the motel i stayed. It was a long walk, and i was wearing suit and shining shoes hahaha.
Stayed at the motel for another nite. The next morning i called a car service to pick me up to the bus station. Then i walked around the bus station area looking for chinese food. was extremely hungry at that time. There is one chinese buffet at the bus station. though the food is not perfect, it is still eatable.
Cost:
Bus tickets: $60 (round trip) my very original thought was to drive to hanover, but the weather was horrible during those days
Cab Cost: $26 (for two trips)
Motel Stay: $150 for two nites
Food: $30 for two days
if you want to stay around the school, make sure book the hotel/inn/motel rooms before you go. Call them and ask for the quote. The price vary a lot. I remember one quote i got was like $230 per nite for a stardard inn suite. But if you stay at boston, i assume you will find places for a much lower price.
The motel i stayed at is call Norwich Inn. It is an inn, but it also offers motel rooms, which is twice cheaper.
Good Luck!!! |
