Thank you! I would say that a gap year is often something that is challenging to explain to an Admissions Committee, unless you fill the year with quality internships. So, I would avoid it if you can. You'll want to target higher than a 700 for the top programs, as you come from a very competitive applicant pool. Many folks you are competing with will have scores above 700. So for tier 1 schools, I would try to score well above 700 and see if you can apply this year, as the gap year is often challenging to explain to an AdCom. Good luck!
