"China is 16 hours ahead of US Pacific Time, 13 hours ahead of US Eastern Standard Time and 8 hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time. "

这样推算一下,应该是北京时间9月1日凌晨1:00-2:15.

There are 12 hours difference between Eastern Time and Beijing Time.
When Eastern Time is 9:00am, the Beijing Time should be 9:00pm at the same
day. So  12:00pm -   1:15pm Eastern Time on Wednesday, August 31st equals
to 12:00am -  1:15am Beijing Time on Thursday, September 1st. So you need
stay late to chat at Wednesday night. Hehe, hope it helps you. You can also
check the website:
   http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/custom.html?sort=2
Eastern Time is used in Washington DC.
