第一篇作文

When it comes to the topic of which type of class is better, teacher takes full control by lecturing or students also get involved with talking? People must have different preferences as both approaches have advantages and disadvantages. While I admit teachers lecturing is very important for a effective and well organized class, it is better to let students get more involved in the talking in class with the following reasons.

As we all know, a main purpose of teaching is to let students master knowledge and apply it in their future lives. However, teachers lecturing alone can not achieve this goal. We must remember that students are not machines to memorize what teachers tell them, but very active elements in the process of teaching and learning. Therefore to make the studying process more effective and enjoyable, students need to be given more opportunities to express their feelings and ideas toward the books and interpretations by the teacher rather than just listening passively. Such well explains why the students from a more dynamic and democratic class generally achieve better academic records.

Another reason is that an active role in classroom helps build personalities of students. Imagine in a teacher-control classroom, the teacher is entitled so much authority that students might be afraid of producing questions or disagreements, thus become timid people not daring to speak out their own opinions. Of course, this prediction seems extreme. But we can’t deny such influences do exist on some students. If students can do some talking in the class, they will learn to express themselves in public, even in front of authority. And such courage is vital important in one’s personality structure. Also students can learn to respect others by listening other students.

Moreover, the teacher can also benefit from a students active type of class since teacher can know better of the status of the students learning.  And through such observations and interactions, teachers are able to adjust the approaches and strategies of teaching to ensure students learn as much as possible.

From the above, it is obvious that a students-active class benefits both students and teachers from different angles. Therefore I firmly believe that such type of class is a wise choice for us.

第一篇作文

When it comes to the topic of which type of class is better, teacher takes full control by lecturing or students also get involved with talking? (第一句看着就不顺,好像不是一个完整的句子。)People must have different preferences as both approaches have advantages and disadvantages. While I admit teachers lecturing is very important for a effective and well organized class, it is better to let students get more involved in the talking in class with(for) the following reasons.

As we all know, a main purpose(one of the main purposes) of teaching is to let(用点其它的词吧,help、assist都可以呀) students master knowledge and apply it in their future lives. However, teachers lecturing alone can not achieve this goal. We must remember that students are not machines to memorize what teachers tell them, but very active elements in the process of teaching and learning. Therefore to make the studying process more effective and enjoyable, students need to be given more opportunities to express their feelings and ideas toward (about)the books and interpretations by the teacher rather than just listening passively. Such well explains why the students from a more dynamic and democratic class generally achieve better academic records.

Another reason is that an active role in classroom helps build personalities of students(students can better build their personalities by playing an active role in classrooms). Also students can learn to respect others by listening (to and appreciate)other students. (学会用interactive, challenge等动词,interaction between teachers and students; students are allowed to challenge teachers, etc)

第二篇

Why do so many people like music? It is a easy yet difficult question to answer. Music is important to many people for many reasons, some public recognized, some very personal. The numerous benefits music brings to people will explain the popularity.

First, listening to music is good to both physical and emotional health of people. A good example is the increasing recognition of music therapy for patients recovery according to a recent research in China. Evidence shows that patient recover rate increased 30% when given music therapy regularly for a period of two months. The researchers explained that this increase of recovery is accredited to the physical and emotional improvement of the patients after they are exposed to some tranquil and soothing music everyday.  Another example is the popularity of music education among pregnant future mothers. Many cases in the world shows that music education in early fetal stage helps the development of the child after its birth. Some child having been exposed to regular music education before birth can read at the age of one. How magic music is!

Another benefit music can bring is the prosperity of business. When people are shopping in supermarket and malls, they may not even notice the existence of background music. Yet the background music plays a very important role in the sales of retail business because people feel more inclined to make purchases under the cheerful background music. Besides, music alone is a very prosperous industry in the present world. People, especially youth people are enthusiastic about music all the time. Music idols for them is the symbol of modern, vigorous lifestyles. Therefore music by popular idols would be even more effective in driving business sales.

Third but not the last, music is very important ways for people to express themselves. No matter happy or sad, excited or bored, people can find music conforming to their moods. Music enhances happiness and releases pressure in people’s lives. What’s more, music makes the world melodious and dynamic in many ways.

From the above, it is easy to see music as a very important part of the present world is playing a more and more active role in people’s lives and people are making more efforts and put more energy and love to create beautiful music.

Teaching and learning are an open-ended, all-inclusive terms, which by no means have any specific or formalized style. When it comes to the ways to give and attend lectures, some students contend that teachers do all of the talking in class, while others, like me, prefer classes where talking are participated by students too. Among various merits about the latter way, three conspicuous reasons would substantiate my view as follows.

The first plain truth, as I am presenting here, is that students would concentrate easily thus learn better in class if they do some of the talking with the teacher. For one thing, it is known that concentration plays an important in how much you gain from the teacher’s talking. And as young adolescents, students cannot always keep their minds in check. If they could participate in the teacher’s talking, expressing their ideas and discussing them with the teacher and the peer students, they will easily be appealed to the lecture. Thus, to do some talking by students is an effective way to improve the efficiency of classes.

Furthermore, to do some talking is not only instrumental for student to concentrate on the lecture, but often conducive to their creativity and other abilities. Education, as an essential private for citizens, should grant students critical thinking and creativity rather than only some scientific theories or some historic events. While what the teacher talks in class often some basic facts or theorems, what and how the students think are more important to successful education. In this sense, that young students stand out, question the teacher and interact with others is indispensable to their enlightenment. Knowledge is built with facts just as a house is built with bricks, but a collection of facts cannot be called knowledge since any more than a pile of bricks can hardly called a house. Talking in class is critical for students to learn knowledge and cultivate creativity like learning to build their own houses with bricks.

Last but not least, behind my view that student should do some talking in class lies the fact that talking of both the teacher and the students would form a friendly atmosphere. Good teachers are also good friends of students who are willing to listen to their opinions and solve their questions in time. To achieve this goal, no other way would be more efficient than talking with each other in class.

Admittedly, that the teachers do all the talking has its own advantage since class time is limited and this way will impart more things to students. But compared with this way, I still side with the students who prefer to do some talking in class because it can improve the efficiency, cultivate students’ thinking habits and create a friendly atmosphere.

Schools should ask students to evaluate their teachers. Do you agree or disagree? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

Traditionally, teachers take the leading role at school by lecturing students, assigning homework and evaluating the study of students. However, recently some people has brought forward the new idea of students evaluating their teachers which I believe is really a creative and beneficial approach to both students and teachers for the following reasons.

First, students are to their teachers as consumers to service providers. Therefore students have the right to evaluate their teachers’ work. Nowadays when people go to select service providers such as hotel or restaurant, comments from other customers are an very important source helping them to make a choice. The reason is rather simple. Only those who has been there knows the service best. Similarly whether the teacher is capable or not, popular or banal, must be commented by students as they are experiencing the work of teachers in person.

Another reason I support the idea of students evaluating their teachers is I believe this approach would improve the teaching and learning effect. Through the evaluating process, students can encourage what they like about the teachers and point out what they don’t like. Such interaction helps teachers get to know students better and prepare teaching accordingly. Consequently students will benefit from the more friendly teaching and learn more knowledge at school.

Last but not the least, students evaluating teachers also help students to develop analyzing ability which is one of the keys to their future success in study and work. Take the successful managers and enterprises owners for instance, almost all of them possess outstanding analyzing ability. Playing an active part at school can build up confidence, sense of responsibility in students.

From the above has been discussed. It is obvious that the approach of students evaluating their teachers can benefit both the students and the teachers in numerous ways. It is indeed a big progress if implemented at school and would certainly bring more enjoyable learning experience to more and more students.
