Topic (TWE012): Many people visit museums when they travel to new places. Why do you think people visit museums? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
My composition:
Have you ever been to the Forbidden City Museum? Have you ever walked along the General Chinese History exhibition room in the National Museum of Chinese History? Have you ever seen the Emperor Qin’s Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses?
If you have never had such experiences, you would never know how much fantasy and excitement these museums could bring you.
Many people prefer to visiting museums when they travel to new places. There are many reasons account for it. First of all, as time capsules, museums reflect a country’s culture and history. As you walk around the General Chinese History exhibition room in the National Museum of Chinese History you may feel that you are traveling along a path spanning the course of Chinese history. Another particular example is the Forbidden City Museum. It is considered as one of the most favorite tourist sites in Beijing, even in China. There are a large variety of historical objects and art works there. All of them are representatives of Chinese history and the highest ancient architectural achievements.
It is only in some museums that certain precious objects are presented there. People who have ever been to Emperor Qin’s Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses will know exactly what I mean. It is known as “the eighth Wonder of the world” for its vivid pottery figures, colorful uniforms and various weapons. They are the peak of perfection in ancient China. All of them are so unique that they cannot be seen anywhere else in the world.
Furthermore, visiting museums can enrich our horizon of knowledge in a variety of specific fields, such as the preventive measures of a disease, the composition of Jupiter and the latest development of robotics and so on.
There is no denying that there are many alternative ways to obtain knowledge and learn about the culture of some places where people visit for the first time. However, taking all following factors into account: the easiest way to access one country’s culture, the precious exhibition of unique objects and widest visual range to learn new techniques, visiting museum is the wise decision one can make. |
