1.Some people say that physical exercise should be a required part of everyschool day. Other people believe that students should spend the whole schoolday on academic studies. Which opinion do you agree with? Use specific reasonsand details to support your answer. Whilesome people think that students should only have academic studies in school, other argue that physical exercise is also important and even a must. As far asI am concerned, I think that physical exercise should be a requirement in schoollife. Opponentsof physical exercise have their reasons. For the main one, school is theplace where the teachers lecture their students instead of exercise them.Kids go to school because their parents want to prepare them with knowledge and intelligence.Physical exercise, from this point of view, seems to contribute little to thefulfillment of the objectives. Even worst, physical exercise would waste thetime and energy of students, distracting them from studying academics. For theschool, the salary of PE teachers, the purchases of equipments and their maintenancefor physical exercise would also be a heavy burden. However,I think it’s important and worthwhile to make physical exercise a must inschool. In the every first place, we cannot let school life ruin the health ofstudents. Think about how you feel when you are sitting at the desk for thewhole day without exercises. That’s my everyday’s life as a research assistant. In my job, I have to do all the works sitting at the desk with a computer, handling with all the data and writing reports. After a long day’s work, the painof my muscles, especially those in the shoulders, really kills me. So I go to swimming or running every day after work to relax my muscles. For the young body ofstudents, long-time studying at the desk will not only hurt their muscles, butalso damage their visions. This can be evidenced when you look at how manystudents in school are writing glasses nowadays. On thesecond consideration, physical exercises can enhance the efficiency ofstudying. While the opponents think that exercises will occupy the time forstudying, they ignore that time is not the guarantee of efficient study.Studying in long time does not necessarily imply efficient study. Exercises, onthe other hand, can improve the studying efficiencies. Just as a horse cannot keeprunning, our brains also need some rest to be better function. Asstated above, physical exercises can not only benefit the physical health ofstudents but also improve their efficiencies in studying. It should be includedas a must in school life to prepare the students with both academic excellence andphysically strong body.
