[size=10.000000pt]In a 1918 editorial, W. E. B. Du Bois advised AfricanAmericans to stop agitating for equality and toproclaim their solidarity with White Americans forthe duration of the First World War. The editorial
[size=10.000000pt](5) surprised many African Americans who viewed
Du Bois as an uncompromising African Americanleader and a chief opponent of the accommodationisttactics urged by Booker T. Washington. In fact,however, Du Bois often shifted positions along the
[size=10.000000pt](10) continuum between Washington andconfrontationists such as William Trotter. In 1895,when Washington called on African Americans toconcentrate on improving their communities insteadof opposing discrimination and agitating for political

[size=10.000000pt]Du Bois’s wartime position thus reflected not achange in his long-term goals but rather apragmatic response in the face of social pressures:
[size=10.000000pt](25) government officials had threatened AfricanAmerican journalists with censorship if theycontinued to voice grievances. Furthermore,
Du Bois believed that African Americans’contributions to past war efforts had brought them

45. The passage is primarily concerned with
(A) identifying historical circumstances that ledDu Bois to alter his long-term goals
(B) defining “accommodationism” and showing howDu Bois used this strategy to achieve certaingoals
(C) accounting for a particular position adopted byDu Bois during the First World War
(D) contesting the view that Du Bois was significantlyinfluenced by either Washington or Trotter
(E) assessing the effectiveness of a strategy thatDu Bois urged African Americans to adopt 正确

[size=13.3333330154419px]书上给的解释是应该选C,我当时选的B,因为虽然B选项里的"to achieve certain goals"和原文有点不符,也并没有真正Define accommodationism, 但C选项a particular position这里我觉得也很不对啊 因为文章重点就是在说D.B这个人如何change position along the continuum, C的表述总让我觉得它的意思是说文章只针对了一战期间那一个position 所以没有选... 其实我当时感觉几个选项都不太对 ,所以选了一个看起来大致至少符合原文走向的。。。但现在心里总有小疙瘩 想请教下大神们 这题的具体选择思路应该是怎样的呢?

[size=13.3333330154419px]现在有点抓狂的就是 OG、VERBAL都会有那种其实都有点怪怪的选项 然后觉得自己只能找“错的最少”的选项。。。遇到这种选项会似是而非的我就会特别纠结 然后在正确答案和另一个错误选项中间摇摆不定 最后准确无误地选中错误的那个…… 太忧伤了_(:з」∠)_
