unless you are sure that your chance of getting into H or M will be significantly improved next year, other than that,
what is the point of waiting another year if you want to be in Boston?

Boston is not a big city but it has pretty much everything and you can be with your family, isn't that one of your priorities?

如果来年再申请，应该会多申请一些吧，不会拘泥于boston的学校。我家那位也想在拿到master之后申请商学院，可能会一起申请吧。现在还在犹豫~

不过两个人一起申请，想申请到同一个城市的概率更小。一般来说，如果你明年申请，你今年申了但是被据或者哪怕是面试以后被拒的学校基本没什么希望。

the cities that have several decent programs are just Boston, NY, Chicago, but the other big names are not much easier handled than MIT.
if not better than Rochester, why bother apply

I think it is hard to transfer, cuz everyone knows each other in this field. The most difficult question is that..how to tell the prof. you wanna leave.(If you say family reason to let prof believe in you, it will limit your choices again), and if in the end, you cannot go elsewhere, how can you get along with others as well as before? (maybe i think too much) What's more, it is hard to state the reasoning of transfer in SOP.

To save all of the troubles, i will say maybe reapply next year and not think about transfer(I mean apply for 2010 Fall). Transfering is the worst choice in my opinion.

BTW, I heard one guy in other field asking for transfer, and in the end, he cannot make it to other school. The current prof did not pay the fellowship anymore. So...the guy left the school. He is in industry now.

刚刚收到BU的official offer letter. 4年，$25000 per year. 又看了具体的项目介绍，感觉还是不错的。估计会从了他家吧，最近不想折腾了，好好过日子：）毕竟两个人能在一起是最重要的。感谢大家的参谋和支持，Bless all CDer~ 等期末考试完，会写一个小小的心得。虽然申请结果一般，但是在申请的过程中感触还是很多的～大家加油！
