if HBS is your goal and nothing else. I would say neither accounting nor actuarial science will give you any edge.

after all, it is not the field you are in, it is HOW WELL you did in this field.

You have made the answer quite clear. What you need is experience, not another Master degree. B-schools admit people basing on their leadership potential, not background. Try to get a job and make it a success.

I will leave my eye wide open for job opportunities although it might be hard for me to find a job with a master degree in social science in the USA. But as I always believe " You never know until you try".
