In the united states, injuries to passengers involved in automobile accidents are typically more severe than in Europe, where lwas require a different kind of safety belt. It is clear from this that the united states needs to adopt more stringent standards for safety belt design to protect automobile passengers better.

答案是d，可是我怎么也看不明白，为什么d就不weaken了呢？
美国车祸的概率高，所以车祸的人也多，和保险带没啥关系，不正好weaken么？
