Most William Faulkner's novels deal with the universal problems of evil as presented by family disintegration and degeneration.

don't know why the answer is A. What is wrong with "Most"?  Maybe it should be "most of", but why?

most作形容词时须直接修饰复数或单数名词，不能在most和它所修饰的名词之间再插入起限定作用的修饰词如形容词性的物主代词等，即：
可以说:

most friends;   most money
但不可以说: most my friends; most my money

须改为:

most of my friends ;

most of my money
