I have great sympathy to your parents situation...if they can not afford your school tuition as they originally belong to the Club "1000" of the Revolutionary Old Guards.

If you have said is true, that is not your fault because individual's fortune have ups and downs. Also, your grand father was not an corrupted official, this is very respectable and rare in PRC ethnics.

I am very certain if you call on your uncles and family friends, they will be very willing to help, unless your Grand Father or Father did something very nasty to them.

Otherwise, going in some good schools in China will not lose your status.
