四大Audit + M&A 三年经验想进M7出来转IB机会大吗？

先说下本人情况好了
本人在美国排名前30的学校有finance本科学位和accounting硕士学位
美国四大两年多审计经验，最近内部转去了M&A transaction service部门
本科GPA比较高 3.95 + 研究生GPA还好，就3.65+
CPA + CFA(三级全过）
弱项就是当时本科忙着学习没有太参加社团活动或volunteer之类的 但是现在有兼职帮国际学生做career consultation（因为是收费的，所以不知道该不该写上去简历）
想通过进M7然后进BB IBD或是直接进PE机会大吗? 因为MBA学费比较贵，所以不太考虑非M7的学校
还在考虑要不要申请MBA 毕竟机会成本比较高 gmat还没考 想先看看各位大神的看法

ps本人是女生，可能会有点帮助，可是年龄有点偏大，年底就28了

Hello there!
Well so far, everything looks pretty good and on track for Top schools. You are female in a tough industry dominated by men and your M&A track is a good one. You have international experience the CFA, and well… things look good! Get your GMAT there (which I am sure you will) and all will be in order.

Regarding your volunteer work and extra curriculars, it’s a good point because it points out the one thing in your profile that I think needs to be worked on - and that is cultivating your UNIQUENESS - your passion, your motivation, the story of who you are. I can’t give you a quick answer here, because it takes time and imagination and work to do so, but I’m sure you have some interesting stuff in your background.

If your GMAT is high enough, there is no reason for you not to apply M7, and this year (or next) would be the perfect time for you.

So I’d say: Get studying on that GMAT!!!!

Thank you for the long response! And one thing to clarify on my extracurricular: one thing I get involved pretty seriously is searving as career mentor for international students. I conduct mock interviews, career consultations, various presentations and Q&A sections. I have been doing it for almost 2 years and have consulted more than 200 students so far.  A lot of students don't really have career goals or don't know what to do in order to get their dream jobs. I was one of them couple years ago, so I feel like helping them is quite fulfilling. The only concern is that I do charge students, so it's not entirely a volunteering or non for profit thing. Does it matter? Or does it make me look bad for the MBA application?

很多都是看性格的，而不是仅仅是背景。banking喜欢social的，会networking的人。很多M7背景很好的人进不去banking，而S16有些学校进banking的反而更多。

PE来讲，跟学校就更没有关系。学校就只是敲门砖（如果是hsw会加分）。剩下完全看你的性格是不是他们要的人，你有没有confidence和billionaire一起吃饭并谈笑风生。你要知道你的客户在想什么，并且你也这么想这么关注一些东西，你才能融入进去。

你现在如果只想做banking或者PE，而且如此看学校排名的话，建议你多考虑读mba的收益。

另外，28岁不大哦，在banking来说非常好。

Awesome to hear from you!

Actually your mentoring thing seems pretty awesome, and yes it does count for a lot. And yes as an extra curricular activity. Even if it’s not exactly volunteer work. I think a goal of moving from audit to financial consulting or banking itself makes a lot of sense.

Don’t get too fixated on M7 though, even if you have a shot to get in. Instead look at the schools that recruit to your target company (in your case, schools recruit from a  bunch of S16 schools, even if yes some M7 schools are better).

ibd的话 只要能进M7还是很好转的 。问题是lz确定要做banking吗，毕竟也不是22，23岁可以拼体力的年纪了

你的背景进M7再转Banking不难的，但是M7里面各家学校中国人在美国找Banking的难易程度也有区别，建议做进一步了解（如果是回亚洲做就没这个问题）

基本M7机会非常大
各种条件都具备，尤其CPA+CFA都是三级，非常厉害
只欠GMAT东风，应该可以非常高
专业职涯咨询一定要写上简历！因为这表示就业方面很厉害，还可以帮助同学找工作
女生更容易录取～ 年龄刚好
赶快想好要去BB还是IBD还是PE
其实根据案例经验，可以直上PE没问题
