The reading passage offers three evidences that one painting thought to be Rembrandt's is not painted by him.( suggessing that one painting was thought not be painted by Rembrandt)However,the professor in the lecture convinces that the picture(portrait) is indeed Rembrandit's.

First,the author in the reading says that the inconsistency of the clothes in the painting is one evidence that the paniting is not painted by Rembrandt.While,the professor explains that the dark(没有提到collar的颜色吧) fur collar is not original,it was added to the painting to improve its value one hundred years after the picture was painted.The original painting was consistent as Rembrandt's other paintings.

The second reason the reading provided is the light on the women's face.Then,the professor states that,the dark fur collar is not original on the painting,after the fur collar is removed,it can be seen that the women was wearing a bright (light-colored浅色的) clothes which can illuminated the face of the women by reflecting the sunlight.Thus,the light and shdow in this painting fit together.

In the end,the reading points out that the wood planet  paintingwas glued together with several pieces of wood.On the contrary,the professor argues that,the part which were added to the painting was not the original wood that Rembrandt used to make the painting.After other parts was removed,people could find the painting was painted on only one wood.Furthermore,the professor says that another self-portrait of Rembrandt with a hat was made of wood from the very same tree as the women's painting.Therefore,the painting was indeed painted by Rembrandt.

Computors and Internet make the communication around the world easier and more rapid. With the help of them,people have the ability to know what happened in the world immediately,at the same time they can exchange their ideas about these events to improve knowledge even can correct their wrong opinions on some events.Therefore,it is no doubt that people are now easier to become educated than in the past.

Considering the advent of communication technology,people nowadays are easier to get information from various ways to become educated.You only need to click on one button of your computors or cell phones when you have some problems or want to know about some specific knowledge.The information on-line provided is up-to-date,easy to access,and widely available to the public. While,hundreds of years ago,these technologies were quite unimaginable. Thus,the technologies give modern people the advantage to achieve information more convenient and complete.

Educatin nowadays becomes more focus on international exchange and informatin sharing,this give modern people the opportunity to choose the subject what they interest in and love to continue on throughout their life. When it comes to the question of whether food in the past was much healthier than today,different people do not hold the same opinion.Some of them believe that food in the past was much healthier,based on the enviorment had less polution than today.While others think that due to the development of technologies,human nowadays have a broader range of selection for food,the ways that people treat food are also changing,so,present food is healthier.Generally speaking,the health condition today is better than in the past,it is another indication that food today is healthier.

First,the selectin of food is various in modern society. When people go to supermarket,they can find almost every food resources avialable in the world. Today's transportation system and the air-conditation technologies make it possible to convey food for long distance and at the same time ensure its quality. While in the past,the fresh fruit could only be stored for several days before it became putrid. Also,some food were not suitable for long distance transportation in the past.Thus,ancient people relyed on limit kinds of food,the nurtient these food provided could not compared to today's high quality food.

Then,people nowadys have many ways to cook food,to ensure the food is healthy to eat. New technologies lead to the inventions of oven,pressure cooker,induction cooker,etc;all these facilities can be used to sterilization. New instruments which detect the content of the food can help people find hazardous substances in the food,thus people will not feed on it to avoid possible diseases. However,people in the past did not have these technologies or instrucments,so that they might catch some diseases simplely becasue lack of knowledge about some food resources.

Finally,compared to the production process,such as how to choose the seeds,where to plant these cprops,to the past,modern agriculture have many advantages. When choosing the seeds with high quality,medern technoligies give the experts the convenience to ensure this purpose. Also,the irragition system contributes to the healthy growth of the crops. Meanwhile,new methods for cultivating crops like hydroponics are used in large commercial greenhouses,to produce food at any seasons of the year. New breeding technique,such as Space-breeding and hybridization,help technicists create new crops which can produce foodstuffs rich in certain particular nurtient or vitamin. While,people in the past did not have such advantages.

Of course,some people could argue that food in the past was more natural and contained less heavy metal element than today's. Almost everyone knows the polution in current situation is very severe. While,the exiting thing is that we realize this point,and are making effort to changing the situation with the lhelp of our science and technology. This is unlike people in the past,who might eat unhealthy food without notice because of their limited knowledge on this subject. No one can deny the fact that society had changed a lot during the past fifty years. New technoligies such as the Interent,cell phone,robots and so many biological inventions,all of these have brought great changes to modern people. Also,evevyone would agree that both old people and young people can enjoy the benefits and convenice of these technologies. While,some aspects which youngsters do not have is that old people like our grandparents have years of experiences,and the wisdom to deal with difficulties in life,to face the misfortunes of evevy kind,most importantly,they know the methods to solve these problems. Thus,the above statament is not correct in some degree.

In the first place,some life experiences do not change even the society may alter dramaticly. Some social norms and custom keep unchange for several hundreds of years,not to mention only fifty years. All of the members of the society should conform to these social regulations to ensure the stablity of the society,despite the age difference of them. So,grandparents' advice on these things is indeed helpful for their grandchildren. Such as in my country,when people visit a Muslim's house,there are so many things that they should pay attention to,like not eat pork. If they do so,it will make the host unhappy,and the host would think you smirch their religion. So,old people' advice has its use on these things,and their grandchildren should listen to them to avoid making mistakes.

Then,children can learn lessons from the mistakes made by their grandparents,and hopefully can aviod making the same mistakes again. Old people had made so many mistake in their life,and some of the quesions might be encountered by their garandchildren. Thus,by realizing and learning from the mistakes of their grandparents,young children can develop quichly with less setback than all depend on their own efforts. Most of the children nowadays are required to go to schools to study,and they will meet some problems in their learning process. Then,their grandparents might confront the same problems fifty year ago. Becasue some of the basic knowledge are remian the same even the courses in the university may changed a lot because of the progresses of science and technology. Thus,grandparents advice on these problems is really useful for their grandchildren to make progresses quickly.

Finally,young children can have a different perspective of view on the difficulties they face,even their grandparents' advice may not seem useful for them to sovle the question. The develoopment of the society is a contiuneous process,so children need to learn how their grandparents' opinion on the same question in order to broaden their horizon. At the same time they can have a better understanding of their grandparents.

Of course,some advice may seem useless,such as grandparents' advice on the use of Inernet or on the knowledge on some specific areas which are developing so quickly. The reading text holds the point that the decline of sea otter is caused by chemical pollution. However, the professor in the lecture totally disagrees. In her opinion,the reason of the declining is the predator.

First,if the death of the sea otters is because of chemical pollution,then people could some dead sea otters. While,in fact,there are not dead sea otters can be seen. So,the professor points out that the predator explaination seems to be true in this situation,as the predators eat the sea otters so people can not find dead sea otters.

Second,the orca indeed more interest in large prey such as whales. But,the whales have been largely hunted by human. Thus,orca has to turn their attention to some small sea animals such as seals,sea lions,and sea otters,the ensure its survival.

Third,the professor says that the uneven distribution of the otter decline can be better explained by the predators. The pattern of otter decline is determined by whether the places are accessable to the orca or not. In the place where the orca can easily go,the number of the sea otters is greatly decreased. While in other places like the shallow or rocky location where the orca can not go because of its body,the sea otter has not declined. Therefore,the orca can better explain the uneven pattern of the otter decline.
