Try to find other ways to convince adcom that you are who they want. Write more emails, write more essays, ..... anyway, just demonstrate your determination to go to Stern.
udream, finger crossed... Don't explain why you did so unless they asked you. Just try another angle telling them you are a leader who is full of curiosity and would like to try new things. if possible, pls talk to some alumni to have their idea what to do when being waitlisted. good luck.
My guess is my answer to the question of " what you are going to do for your internship in the summer" and my pregnancy made them reluctant to accept me directly, I would better articulate on the intern quesion more feasiblly and show my determination to attend this program after my bb is born. Sigh, I have hoped to receive some $$ from Stern, but with waitinglisted, it seems impossible.
