GPA低怎么办？

At the end of xx semseter, I got xx prize in my extracurricular activities" That is, it is not because you cannot handle the course work, but  because you value something else. Not sure whether this will work.

有的学校在作成绩单的时候会列明GPA的RANGE. 比如: 我的GPA也是83,但我们学校在成绩单上注明是85-----A, 75-85-----B,... 这样一算GPA是很高的了.

如果学校没有提供这个标准,就按有利于你的方法去算.

可是说参加课外活动，很多人都可以说。。我大学揽了很多工程自己做赚钱，能写吗？是否一定要公益活动或社团活动才能写？
而且写这些东东需要什么方面的证明吗？？

I think both types of examples are fine. And I don't think you need any proof. Adcom will trust you if you can provide details in your essays and they reserve the right to check your background. I heard from my friend that a guy in Wharton used fake experience in his application. When he was to graduate, the company he interviewed with somehow found out that he was lying and notified wharton. He was then expelled from Wharton, losing his degree, two year tuition, and two year potential income if he had not got in wharton.

If possible, you may ask someone to write you a recommendation letter.
