Well first of all, organized events like this tend to be a lot more “politically correct” and polite (as you can understand) than if you go on campus and speak with people face-to-face. In an individual situation, you will get more detail, more truth, and more knowledge. And I do think that visits are very useful – not just to find INFORMATION, but to get a FEEL for the place, to SEE what It’s REALLY like, and to physically MEET people.
