unc is at research triangle park (RTP). there are tons of startup and mid-size company. RTP and raleigh area are also very well know for the big data center of almost every big company in US. UNC is very close to DC and NYC. the life in chapel hill and austin are very similar. I have families in both location. Both cities are going up in US city rankings. if you like peaceful country life blended with city culture/activities, go to chapel hill. There are so many folked moved in from northern US. if you don't mind the hot weather, and OK with a bit more stressful big city life like NYC, go Austin. Plus, texas doesn't have state tax, so if you work there post MBA, it's good. i simply don't like the hot in Austin and the size of the city - too big to me!

我觉得Austin一点也不stressful啊，和NYC比估计就相当于绵阳和上海，而且人都超级热情，有一次我半夜加油发现国内信用卡不能刷，走来一对夫妇帮我用他们的卡搞定还说不要钱（当然我还是坚持给他们现金了），不过人nice这一点我相信北卡也很好。Austin夏天虽然热，但是不是潮湿闷热，就像新疆那种太阳很烤人，但是晚上就还好。不过最好会开车，否则Austin说大不大说小不小，虽说有公交，好多1小时一班的有和没有也就差不多了。

城市大小适中，什么都有但又不会特别拥挤。生活氛围浓厚，有各种音乐节，酒吧。。。每年还可以去现场看moto gp和formula 1，夫复何求！
