请教一下版上的大牛，为什么作为顶级商学院的INSEAD，看上去录取率比同等商学院高不少

小弟有一事不明，请各位大牛多多指教。

我就INSEAD的地位请教过多位在美国S16留学的师兄师姐，大家都认为是一所非常好的商学院，可见
这家商学院确实在业内地位高且口碑不错。

但是我查阅了GMAT Club等关于INSEAD的帖子，发现它的录取率相对其他一流商学院是偏高的，
虽然没有官方的数据，但传说有人统计过达到了25%甚至以上。在我心目中同等级的欧洲的商学院
比如LBS就比它低很多，大概在10%到15%之间，基本和北美的 顶级商学院差不多了。
而我感觉商学院录取时是否selective应该是判断生源质量挺重要的一个数据。所以就产生了一个疑问，
在录取率相对比较高的情况下，为什么INSEAD能在顶级企业和其他商学院
保持至少和LBS齐平的口碑。按照供需理论，那既然一样好的商学院但是竞争相对不激烈，那应该
大家都会去申请，然后把录取率拉低才对啊。

如果有大牛可以回答这个问题，麻烦多多指教，目前正在选校阶段，希望能得到大家指点，

Guess the problems are here (kinda GMAT-y):
- 供需理论 doesn't hold true universally. There may not be as much demand for INSEAD as for others due to its uniqueness, e.g., trilingual requirement.
- 一样好 doesn't mean they are the same. For people aiming to work in a certain region, a local program with weaker reputation may be more attractive than a "better" school thousand miles away.
- Selectivity by number doesn't necessarily correlate with the competitiveness in application, nor the reputation of the program. A small pool consist of highly qualified applicants may lead to a large acceptance rate, while a large pool consist of a great portion of unqualified applicants may result in a single digit acceptance percentage rate.

GMAT club数据样本还是不全面，因为大部分中国人不会上去，
lbs内部有数据的，我知道去年是24％，绝对正确

Hello there,
The basic reason is probably that INSEAD’s class is huge and it has two intakes. The post-MBA salaries at INSEAD and their job placements are quite good, so I wouldn’t worry about selectivity too much, if the school can help you reach your goals.
