Dean's Fellowship Package from Maryland

是啊，我都觉得奇怪，应该还有最top的8-10个人能拿到的University of Maryland Fellowships,但是目前打听到的怎么都是Dean's fellowship呢？

刚刚收到，钱很少。Dean’s Scholarship $3000,一次性的。提供助教职位，学费按州内学生标准，一年有$6500 stipend。就是和cloth的第二年差不多。但第二年什么都没有，只说成绩和表现好的话优先给与助教职位。

现在很担心，刚入学功课多，口语差，作助教能行吗？而且第一年能勉强应付第二年怎么办？助教的职位一般能保持吗？如果失去的话第二年就读不起了

大家请给点建议，谢谢。

再给大家提个醒，在马里兰州奖学金是要交税的，很高，大约30%，只有最初的$7000可以减免。

问一下katie_shi , 你的graduate assistantship一周要工作多少个小时?按你这么说的话, 拿GA 或TA的话, 不是学费全免, 而只是付in-state tuition fee 吗?

每周12小时，不是学费全免, 而只是付in-state tuition fee ，有$6500 stipend。

是呀，我只是觉得奇怪．因为许多学校的ＧＡ都是全费学费的．但马大好象只是免international tuition, in-state  部分还是要付的．我也觉得我的第二年的package 不是很attractive. 不知道有没有什么办法去补这个空．

I just came back to work from my Chinese new year vacation in China.  I got the same dean's fellowship from Maryland, two years together around 53300 Dollars.  But Kaith just mentioned that we need to pay tax for such fellowship, could someone provide more information about it?

I also got dean's fellowship from Uni of Minnesota. 70,000 Dollar for two years. It's tough choice for me at this moment. Some advice?

In two weeks, I will travel to London to attend NYU interview. If I am admitted without any financial aids, what shall I select? I appreicated your firends could give me some ideas. thanks
