From my friend:

It appears that Stern have made all their finance offers.  

I just got a call from the head of the accounting program there which made me an offer (I applied for finance as the top priority and for accounting as the second one).  

He said that Stern will not be making any further finance offers.  

It's kind of a mixed feeling - on one hand, I know that my file was considered as one of the final contenders, but on the other hand, I didn't quite make it. Well, at least I have one offer, maybe not the one I wanted most, but still something

一个申请finance phd的牛人背景...

I am currently living in the US, but my Undergrad is from an International Institution (Probably a known one).  

My Gmat Score is 740 (40V, 50Q), I have a pretty good undergrad GPA from a known Non-US institution (92/100 - Top 5%) and lots of research and teaching assistant positions relevant to the subject and two papers which I'm cowriting and should be submitted for publishing in the near future. I have a lot of experience as a TA and research assistant in the field. I took about 7 math courses in my UnderGrad degree, I have three recommendation from well know professors in the area - one of them probably at the top 5 in the field.  

I just sent 10 applications for PhD in Finance at the following schools:  
Harvard, Yale, Wharton, MIT, NYU, DUKE, KELLOGG, UCLA, Stanford, Columbia.  
(选校名单和我重复80%,我死定了...)

BTW, as I know, stern has not made any decision in the past week, including accounting program. I don't know whether this guy can get the offer in advance. IMHO, it may be a fraudulent news.

Is that true? I also apply for stern and have no feedback right now.

我也不敢确定，否则我为什么自己给自己删贴呢？

我只是今天中午听一个今年也申请的哥们说的，他mm在stern里面做staff。但同时也不排除教授提前给录取者电话通知的可能。

中国自古牛人汗牛充栋，本人不敢妄下判断，唯敢转贴。

I have never ever heard one applicant can apply for two distinct PhD programs from the same school at the same time.

One of my friend's friend got an offer from Stern last December even before I sent out anything - Finance PhD.
